The Buddhist Center Cape Town is one of over 600 Diamond Way Buddhist centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage. They were founded by Hannah and Lama Ole Nydahl under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa. All our centers are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl under the spiritual patronage of Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa.
Our centers are friendly places where people get easy access to Buddha’s timeless wisdom, meditate together, share experiences and actively participate in the center activities. They are non-monastic and western in style, yet rooted in the lineage of oral transmission going back to the historical Buddha 2500 years ago.
